1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how TRIBE handles personal information across our public website, marketplace, dashboards, storefronts, web assistant, supported messaging experiences, and related services. It applies to buyers, vendors, affiliates, visitors, and people who communicate with us.
TRIBE is designed as one connected account: information created in one supported channel may be available in another so that orders, reminders, business records, conversations, and account settings remain consistent.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use TRIBE. We receive information directly from you, automatically from your device and activity, from other users involved in a transaction, and from providers that help complete a service.
- Account and profile data: name, phone number, email, language, profile image, account modes, verification state, and security settings.
- Commerce and business data: listings, product images, inventory, storefront details, customers, orders, delivery addresses, reviews, invoices, receipts, payment links, expenses, debts, and business reports.
- Payment and transaction data: amount, currency, method, masked or necessary phone details, provider and TRIBE references, status, fees, wallet or escrow records, and fraud or reconciliation signals. We do not need your mobile-money PIN or full card credentials in ordinary chat.
- Affiliate data: referral links or codes, clicks, attributed orders, campaigns, commission status, and payout information.
- Messages and Tia data: chat messages, commands, reminders, workflow state, feedback, and files or voice notes you choose to upload, plus transcripts or extracted evidence needed to carry out your request.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device information, session and security events, page activity, diagnostics, cookie or local-storage identifiers, and approximate or selected location.
- Support and safety data: requests, reports, dispute evidence, moderation decisions, and records needed to investigate fraud, abuse, or account access issues.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide the feature you requested, perform our agreement with you, protect legitimate platform and user interests, comply with legal obligations, and use consent where it is required. The purpose depends on the context.
- Create and secure accounts, maintain sessions, verify eligibility, and recover access.
- Display listings and storefronts, personalise marketplace discovery, process orders, coordinate fulfilment, and support reviews or disputes.
- Initiate, verify, reconcile, record, and protect payments, wallets, payouts, eligible escrow, commissions, refunds, invoices, and receipts.
- Operate Tia, preserve conversation context, process requested media, prepare actions, and improve command understanding and response quality.
- Send service notifications about orders, payments, messages, security, reminders, account changes, and preferences you enable.
- Detect abuse, prevent duplicate or unauthorised actions, enforce platform rules, troubleshoot faults, and measure reliability.
- Understand aggregate product usage and improve TRIBE without using live financial status or sensitive confirmations as unsafe cached content.
4. Information other people can see
Public storefronts and marketplace listings may show a vendor's chosen store name, profile or business image, description, general location, products or services, prices, ratings, reviews, and public contact or social links. Affiliate content shared publicly may identify the promoted listing or affiliate link.
Order, payment, private message, wallet, debt, expense, and account-security information is not intended to be public. Share only information you are comfortable making visible when completing a public profile, listing, review, or storefront field.
6. Tia, AI providers, and uploaded media
Tia combines deterministic TRIBE rules with configured AI services. A request may be sent to an available provider to understand language, transcribe audio, analyse an image, or draft a response. We minimise the context sent and apply provider and privacy settings before external processing.
Uploaded financial media is treated as untrusted evidence. A screenshot or model interpretation cannot mark a transaction successful, release funds, or override TRIBE and provider records. Original multimodal media may be kept for a limited operational period according to configured retention, while necessary evidence, audit, or transaction records may be retained longer.
Do not upload passwords, PINs, verification codes, private keys, or unrelated sensitive material. Where a recording or image includes another person, make sure you are authorised to provide it.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, account operation, dispute handling, security, fraud prevention, financial reconciliation, tax or accounting duties, and other legal requirements. Retention therefore varies by record type.
Closing an account does not always delete every record immediately. We may retain transaction ledgers, receipts, invoices, audit events, dispute evidence, fraud signals, and records required to establish or defend legal rights. We delete, anonymise, or restrict other information when it is no longer needed.
8. How we protect information
TRIBE uses safeguards appropriate to the information and risk, including access controls, authentication, private storage for sensitive media, masking, validation, logging, idempotency controls, and separation between AI suggestions and trusted financial execution.
No system can promise absolute security. You play an important role by protecting your credentials and phone, reviewing confirmations, keeping profile details current, and reporting suspicious activity promptly. We will investigate credible reports and take proportionate action.
9. Service providers and cross-border processing
Some providers may process or store information outside your country. When that happens, we select providers for a legitimate operational purpose and use available safeguards appropriate to the service, sensitivity, and applicable law.
Provider availability and routing can change as TRIBE develops. The payment or AI provider used for a specific interaction may depend on capability, health, configuration, location, and the service you request.
10. Your choices and privacy requests
You can review or update many details in account settings, control supported notifications, manage active sessions, change language, and choose what public business information to publish. Browser controls can manage cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
Subject to applicable law and necessary identity checks, you may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. Some requests may be limited where we must retain a record for transactions, fraud prevention, disputes, safety, accounting, or law. You may also withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the applicable basis.
11. Children, policy changes, and contact
TRIBE is not intended for a child to independently enter financial or commercial transactions without legally appropriate parent or guardian involvement. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information contrary to this policy.
We may update this policy as TRIBE, our providers, or applicable requirements change. We will publish the new effective date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
