1. Your agreement with TRIBE
These Terms govern your access to TRIBE's website, dashboards, public storefronts, marketplace, Tia assistant on web and supported messaging channels, and related tools. By creating an account, accessing a protected feature, or continuing to use TRIBE, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from them.
If you use TRIBE for a business or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for it. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the platform.
2. What TRIBE provides
TRIBE brings local commerce, business tools, affiliate tools, communication, AI assistance, and supported payment experiences into one account. Depending on availability and your account settings, you may browse listings, place orders, operate a storefront, issue invoices or payment links, create receipts, manage inventory, promote eligible products, and use Tia to help complete these tasks.
Unless TRIBE expressly identifies itself as the seller, the sale of a marketplace product or service is between the buyer and the vendor. TRIBE provides the technology and may support payment routing, eligible escrow, records, communication, and dispute handling, but does not manufacture, own, inspect, or deliver every listing.
3. Accounts, eligibility, and security
You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except where applicable law or our investigation establishes unauthorised use that was not caused by your actions.
Keep passwords, PINs, verification codes, and signed-in devices secure. TRIBE staff and Tia will not ask you to disclose a mobile-money PIN or account password in an ordinary chat message. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or phone has been compromised.
- Use only accounts and payment methods you are authorised to use.
- Complete identity, business, or account verification when a feature requires it.
- Do not sell, transfer, rent, or automate access to your account without written approval.
- A person must be legally able to enter this agreement; minors may use TRIBE only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement where permitted.
4. Listings, orders, and fulfilment
Vendors must describe products and services honestly, use images they have the right to use, show the correct price and availability, and disclose material conditions such as delivery cost, booking requirements, variations, or limitations. Vendors must not list illegal, unsafe, counterfeit, misleading, or prohibited items.
An order is subject to availability, payment confirmation, and acceptance where required. Vendors must package and fulfil accepted orders with reasonable care. Buyers must provide usable contact and delivery information, remain available for fulfilment, and review the order details before confirming.
TRIBE may correct obvious display errors, remove a listing, limit its visibility, or cancel an affected order where necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address fraud, safety, availability, or a material pricing error.
5. Payments, fees, wallets, and escrow
Available payment methods may include mobile money, cards, cash, wallet funds, or another method shown at checkout. TRIBE may route a transaction through an available licensed or authorised payment provider. Provider processing times, limits, verification steps, and outages may affect a transaction.
Where TRIBE identifies an order as escrow-protected, eligible collected funds are held or restricted until the release conditions shown for that transaction are met. Escrow is not a guarantee that every dispute will be decided in a user's favour. Users must provide accurate evidence and cooperate with reasonable review requests.
Fees, commissions, delivery charges, taxes, and payout terms that apply to a transaction will be shown in the relevant flow or agreed plan. A transaction is successful only when TRIBE's records or the responsible provider confirm it; a chat message, screenshot, draft receipt, or pending status is not proof of final settlement.
6. Vendor and affiliate responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for their business information, inventory, customer service, fulfilment, applicable licences, taxes, product quality, and compliance with consumer and advertising rules. Verification or a badge means the stated verification step was completed; it is not an endorsement or guarantee of future conduct.
Affiliates may promote only eligible listings and must represent the product, vendor, price, and their relationship truthfully. Commission is earned only on a qualifying, attributed transaction under the displayed programme rules. Cancelled, refunded, fraudulent, self-referred, manipulated, or otherwise ineligible activity may not earn commission and may reverse a provisional amount.
7. Tia and automated assistance
Tia helps users navigate TRIBE, understand account activity, prepare listings and business documents, find marketplace options, set reminders, and initiate supported workflows. AI output can be incomplete or mistaken, so review important names, numbers, amounts, dates, products, and instructions before confirming.
Tia cannot independently declare a payment complete, release escrow, change a provider result, or bypass account security. Financial and sensitive actions remain subject to deterministic platform rules, authorisation, provider confirmation, limits, and applicable verification.
Do not use Tia as a substitute for professional legal, tax, medical, financial, or safety advice. Do not submit secrets or sensitive information that the requested task does not require.
8. Content, messages, and acceptable use
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give TRIBE a limited, worldwide licence to host, process, reproduce, format, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the relevant TRIBE feature. Public listing and storefront content may be visible outside your dashboard.
Use TRIBE communication tools respectfully. Do not use the platform for fraud, harassment, threats, spam, impersonation, unlawful discrimination, malware, account intrusion, artificial ratings or sales, misleading promotions, or transactions intended to evade TRIBE safeguards.
9. Delivery, returns, refunds, and disputes
Delivery timing is an estimate unless expressly guaranteed. Responsibility may involve the vendor, buyer, and an independent delivery provider. Report a missing, damaged, materially different, or unperformed order promptly through the available order or support flow and retain relevant evidence.
Return, cancellation, refund, and dispute outcomes depend on the listing, product or service type, order status, provider rules, evidence, applicable policy, and consumer law. Some personalised, digital, consumed, completed, or hygiene-sensitive items may have different remedies where permitted by law.
10. Availability and enforcement
We work to keep TRIBE reliable, but features may be unavailable during maintenance, provider interruption, network failure, security response, or events outside reasonable control. Features may change as the platform develops.
We may investigate activity and restrict a listing, transaction, capability, payout, message, or account where reasonably necessary to prevent harm, comply with law, enforce these Terms, or protect TRIBE and its users. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a way to contact support.
11. Responsibility and limits
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, TRIBE is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunity, or loss caused by another user, inaccurate user content, an external provider, or use of the platform contrary to these Terms.
You are responsible for claims, losses, or costs caused by your unlawful content, products, services, conduct, or material breach of these Terms. We will take reasonable steps to reduce foreseeable harm and will assess transaction issues using the records and evidence available to us.
12. Governing law, changes, and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Cameroon. Before starting formal proceedings, you and TRIBE should first try in good faith to resolve the issue through support, without limiting rights available under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.
We may update these Terms when the platform, law, or our practices change. We will publish the updated date and provide additional notice where a change is material. Continued use after the effective date means the updated Terms apply to future use.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@usetribeapp.com. Include enough detail for us to identify the relevant account or transaction, but never send your password, PIN, or one-time verification code.
Questions are welcome
